Raspberries (Rubus idaeus)
Description
The Raspberry is the Bushy shrub, crawling with springs, straight stems, arched towards the tip, with straight and thick thorns, sharp like needles, often placed on the lower part only. The leaves are composed of 3-7 leaflets, toothed on the edges, green on the upper side, white on the bottom. The flowers are white, composed from five sepals, five petals, several stamens. The fruit is reddish in color, with a pleasant smell and flavored sour taste. It blooms starting in May, until July. It grows in rocky places, forest clearings in hill and mountain regions.
Harvest
From the raspberry bush young leaves, without the main petiole, can be harvested, before and during blooming.
Drying Mode
The leaves are dried in thin layers, naturally or artificially, at a temperature of 40-50 degrees C. From 3-4 kg of fresh leaves you can get 1 kg of dried ones.
Uses
It is used as an astringent in diarrhea.
